Pastor David Ponath

Pastor David M. Ponath has served churches in southern Minnesota and northern Illinois. For 30 years before his retirement, he served as the senior pastor at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church and School in North St Paul, MN. In addition to the parish ministry, he served the church and his Lord in many other capacities. Pastor Ponath, born in St Paul, MN, grew up in Stillwater. He graduated from the ministerial training schools of the Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod. He married Carmen Rux in 1959. They have three children and six grandchildren. Pastor Ponath retired in 2001 and moved back to his home town of Stillwater. In the summer of 2002, he accepted a part-time retirement call to be the pastor of St Johns.
